About the museum

The Museum was started in August 2004 by two ex RAF firemen to ensure the collection, restoration and preservation of military fire vehicles through the years. The late president of the RAF & Defence Fire Services Association, John Arthur, had always wanted to ensure that the vehicles and equipment used by him and his colleagues over the years were preserved and this museum is seen as a way of remembering him and all the work he did for the Association and the Royal Air Force Fire Service in a career spanning fifty plus years

The Museum is situated in the peaceful regional airport at the former RAF Halfpenny Green on the Shropshire / Staffordshire borders and boasts a growing collection of vehicles and equipment.
